2013 NRHS Convention: Anchorage Alaska
The 2013 NRHS Convention will take place in Anchorage, Alaska September 18 through 22. Coupled with numerous opportunities for individual tourism, this will be an excellent time to experience the sights of our largest state and the famous Alaska Railroad.
The convention will be headquartered in the Hilton Anchorage, located in the heart of bustling downtown Anchorage and just up the block from the Alaska Railroad’s station and headquarters. The convention program will include charter trains on the Alaska Railroad around the Anchorage area and south into the Kenai Peninsula, passing through some of North America’s most spectacular scenery. In addition to exploring some unusual tracks, the NRHS specials will operate on a more relaxed schedule than the ARR’s regular trains, allowing for planned photo stops on all trips.
The Anchorage program will also include visits to the railroad’s shops and operations center, museum visits, and seminars on both modern operations and historical subjects, along with the many other activities that make up a NRHS convention program.
